Mediaoikeudet
Vuoden 2025 PDGA Pro Disc Golf World Championships 2025 presented by Discmania -tapahtuman (MM-kilpailut) mediaoikeudet omistavat Disc Golf Pro Tour (DGPT) ja Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA). Mediapolitiikan määrittelee ja valvoo DGPT. Voit tutustua tapahtuman mediapolitiikkaan kokonaisuudessaan alempana tällä samalla sivulla (vain englanniksi).
Median akkreditoituminen toimittajana
Lehdistö voi akkreditoitua tästä linkistä. Valitse “PDGA Pro World Championships” tapahtumaluettelosta. Lehdistön edustajana sinun tulee käyttää sivun toisella välilehdellä olevaa lomaketta (editorial). Hyväksymisen jälkeen sinulle myönnetään tapahtumaan keltainen mediatunnus.
Mediatunnuksen hankkiminen yritykselle
Jos olet MM-kisojen liike-, tapahtuma- tai kiertuekumppani, joka on kiinnostunut median tuottamisesta tapahtumassa, tarkista tiedot median käyttöoikeuksista kolmannelta välilehdeltä tältä sivulta. Voit ottaa yhteyttä credentialing@dgpt.com mikäli sinulla on kysyttävää median käyttölupien hankkimisesta ja käyttämisestä.
Medianpassien tyypit

Media Policy
The following Media & Commercial Licensing Policy governs:
- The means of access to Tournament Premises during the Event for Credential Holders;
- The allowance granted by the DGPT to third parties to record media during the Event; and
- The terms and conditions under which media recorded during the Event may be displayed.
Section 1 – Access To Tournament Premises / Credentials
1.1 Upon application and grant of a Credential, and execution of a Media Licensing Agreement (if applicable) to the DGPT, a Credential Holder may access the Tournament Premises for the purpose of recording media subject to the following terms and conditions.
1.2 The DGPT reserves the right to withhold Credentialed Access to any/all applicants or any Holders of season-long Credentials for the Event, including but not limited to Direct Competitors of the Tournament Presenting Sponsor.
1.3 The specific areas of a Tournament site that each Credential Holder may have permitted access to are determined on a Event-by-Event basis and in accordance with the credential type issued (see Media Credential Guide). The Credential Holder understands and agrees that access to certain areas is limited such as “inside the rope” access and agrees to comply with the DGPT’s determination as to access. In addition, the Credential Holder agrees to comply with the DGPT’s On-Site Conduct Guidelines. The DGPT reserves the right to modify, change, or reformat the on-site conduct guidelines at its sole discretion at any time.
1.4 The DGPT issues Credentials to Credential Holders via its Credentialing Process. A Credential authorizes a Credential Holder, on a temporary and conditional basis, to access a Tournament on behalf of his/her Affiliated Entity to record media subject to the following conditions. Credentials may be issued either for a specific Tournament or on a season-long basis.
1.5 The DGPT requires that a Credential Holder who represents a Tour Partner or Commercial Media Entity must first obtain a Media Access Credit in order to receive a Credential. See the Media Access Credit Explainer for more information.
1.6 Applications for any Credential must be submitted through the appropriate DGPT credential request form. All requests must be submitted at least fourteen (14) calendar days prior to the first day of Tournament competition. The DGPT reserves the right not to consider late credential requests. To be granted, credential requests must include all information requested in the application.
1.7 The DGPT has sole discretion to approve or deny a credential request in whole or in part. If DGPT approves a credential request, DGPT will record the approval in its credentialing system and issue a Credential to the approved Credential Holder, setting forth the name of the Credential Holder, his/her Affiliated Entity, and identify the Credential Type it has issued. To receive an issued credential, each Credential Holder must accept, personally and on behalf of his/her Affiliated Entity, the terms of the Credential and agree to abide by this Media Policy, and must sign any statement to this effect.
1.8 The DGPT reserves sole discretion to revoke credentials issued under this Media Policy, and/or the approved terms of a specific credential, in whole or in part at any time.
1.9 Unless superseded by a different agreement, the rights granted to Players and members of the Players’ entourage allowed Inside the Ropes shall be governed by the Player’s Media Rights Policy. Rights granted to DGPT Media Partners shall be controlled by their individual agreements with the DGPT, except that this Policy shall control in the event the individual agreement is silent on a particular issue.
Section 2 – Permission to Record Media
2.1 The DGPT is the sole owner of the rights to all media recorded on Tournament Premises during the PDGA Pro Disc Golf World Championships. For the purpose of clarity, all media rights in and to the Tournament and Surrounding Events, including rights to all forms of audio, video, and photography, taken on premises are held exclusively by DGPT.
2.2 The DGPT grants permission to Credential Holders to record media during a tournament based on the following provisions and the obligations of this Policy. However, a Credential Holder may not capture video of practice or competition rounds, including any activity on the golf course or in the practice areas, unless specifically permitted in writing by the DGPT, or as a condition of the Holder’s credential type.
2.3 A Credential Holder may capture photos and or videos as determined on an event-by-event basis and in accordance with his or her Credential Type. The areas in which photos and or videos may be recorded are set forth in the Media Credential Guide. The DGPT reserves the right to modify, change, or reformat media area access at its sole discretion at any time.
2.4 A Credential Holder may capture video/audio of (i) commentary by the Credential Holder in areas designated by the DGPT, (ii) one-on-one interviews by the Credential Holder in areas designated by DGPT Staff, such as “Mixed Zone” interview areas, and (iii) interviews organized by DGPT Staff in other designated interview areas.
2.5 Pre-Round interviews of Players may be held if any only if the Player agrees in his/her sole discretion, and only in a designated or “mixed zone” interview area.
2.6 If a Credential Holder is issued a credential with “Photo and Video” marked through on the badge, they shall not capture media with Professional-Grade camera equipment, but may use their cell phone to capture media for Personal Capture & Use. Likewise, a mark through the “Photo and Video” section on a physical media badge also bans the use of any peripherals or attachments to enhance cell phone camera functions (clip-on lens extenders, tripod/monopod, gimbals, camera cages/grips).
Section 3 – Display of Recorded Media

Unedited, commentary-free data feeds may not be distributed by a Credential Holder in whole or in part unless the Credential Holder has a separate written data license agreement with DGPT.

To protect the integrity of DGPT and/or Tournament competitions, a Credential Holder or his/her Affiliated Entity, shall not capture, collect, distribute or provide to any third party any results, data, content or information at or from a Tournament, or use, distribute or provide to any third party any data provided by DGPT for purposes of or in connection with any gambling, gaming, daily fantasy or similar (“Gambling”) unless permitted pursuant to a separate agreement with DGPT. A Credential Holder shall not provide Inside Information (as defined below) to any third party that he or she or they knew would be used, or should have known would be used, for Gambling on a DGPT Tournament.
“Inside Information” means information relating to a Tournament (e.g., the health of a player, the conditions of a course, etc.) that is not publicly available and that a Credential Holder knows due to his or her access to a Tournament under this Media Policy.
However, this section does not prohibit a Credential Holder from publicly disclosing information and other content collected by the Credential Holder at the Event in the course of the Affiliated Entity’s news and editorial coverage of the relevant Tournament from a Gambling perspective (e.g., publicly analyzing a player’s current form in publicly recommending Gambling picks for a Tournament). In addition, a Credential Holder should not ask the Event players or caddies questions that would reasonably be expected to lead to a player violating the ethical duties of a DGPT Tour Card holder, irrespective of their status as such.
5.2 Drone Use
Drones (or unmanned aircraft systems) may not be used at the Events (across all DGPT-operated tours) at any time during tournament week, including on practice round days, without the written approval of DGPT. DGPT will consider requests to fly drones at tournaments on a case-by-case basis. DGPT expects to approve drone flights at tournaments only in limited circumstances where flights may be conducted safely, in accordance with FAA rules (e.g., not over people) and without any disruption to the competition. Each request to fly a drone during tournament week must be submitted as a part of a credential request. The DGPT reserves the right to revoke approval of drone flights at its sole discretion at any time.
5.3 No Real-Time Coverage
Unless explicitly set forth in a separate agreement, a Credential Holder or Affiliated Entity’s coverage of a Tournament on any platform may not purport to be, approximate, or serve as a substitute for play-by-play, hole-by-hole or real-time coverage of a Tournament, as determined by DGPT. A Credential Holder may not advertise, market, promote or imply the offering of “live” coverage of Tournament action (practice or competition).
5.4 Augmented Reality

Section 6 – Compliance with DGPT Requests

Each Credential Holder and Affiliated Entity agrees to assign, and hereby assigns to DGPT, all such rights. At DGPT’s request, each Credential Holder and/or Affiliated Entity will execute any further documentation reasonably requested and provided by DGPT to effect DGPT’s ownership of such images, audio, and video. Further, at DGPT’s request, each Credential Holder and/or Affiliated Entity will provide DGPT with copies of all such photos, images, audio and video, captured at a Tournament.

7.3 Use of Likeness
Each Credential Holder grants permission to DGPT and its affiliates, licensees, distributors and media partners to utilize his/her image and likeness as appearing incidentally in any live or recorded television or other transmission or reproduction in whole or in part of any Tournament.
7.4 Interpretation, Modification, and Enforcement
DGPT may interpret, modify, update, replace and enforce this Media Policy at any time in its sole discretion. This Media Policy is not intended to and does not serve as a waiver of any intellectual property or other rights of DGPT.
7.5 Reservation of Rights
DGPT reserves all rights not expressly granted to a Credential Holder and his/her Affiliated Entity under this Media Policy.
7.6 No Transferability
This Media Policy, and each Credential issued hereunder, may not be transferred, conveyed, or assigned by a Credential Holder or Affiliated Entity without the express written permission of the DGPT.

7.8 Governing Law; Venue
This Media Policy will be construed and enforced according to the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to the conflicts of law principles. Each party irrevocably submits to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the State of Texas and the federal courts of the United States of America located in Texas.

7.10 Questions
Please contact the DGPT Communications Department with any questions regarding this Media Policy.
Media credential guide
This page provides a detailed guide on the types of media credentials available through the Disc Golf Pro Tour (DGPT), as well as the specific areas these credentials allow access to. For clarity, a list of definitions used in this guide is provided in section 3.
If you’d like to request a media credential for an upcoming event, you can apply here.
Section 1: Credentials
Media credentials are the basic mechanism for allowing media personnel access to the Event. Both Yellow and Green credential holders are allowed to create media during practice days and competition days, but the two credential types allow for different levels of access to the Lead Card and Chase Card during competition. The two different credential types provide the same level of access to all other playing groups.
Yellow Media Credentials
With a yellow credential, you can:
- Enter a DGPT Event without needing to purchase a spectator ticket.
- Record practice day media inside the Competition Area.
- Access the Mix Zone (interview area)
- Capture media of all playing groups during Tournament days when standing in a General Admission Area or VIP Admission Area.
- Go Inside The Ropes to capture media of all playing groups during Tournament days except the Lead Card and Chase Card.
- You can still capture media of the Lead Card and Chase Card from the General Admission Area or VIP Admission Area.
- This means you can still follow the Lead Card and Chase Card but cannot go inside the ropes on those cards.
- Access a Photo Well on hole 18 at the end of each round. This is a dedicated area inside the ropes on hole 18 that all credential holders may access to document players finishing their rounds, and a prime location for capturing media of the final putt (Championship Moment).
Green Media Credentials
With a green credential, you can do all of the same things allowed with a yellow credential, plus you have Inside the Ropes access to all playing groups, including the Lead Card and Chase Card.
Section 2: Vests
If you are given a media vest, that means that you are approved to use Professional Equipment to capture media at the event.
Professional Equipment includes any camera except a phone camera. Clip-on lens extenders, tripod/monopod, gimbals, or camera cages/grips are considered to be professional equipment.
If you are not given a vest, you are not permitted to use Professional Equipment to capture media. This means that media members not there to operate a camera will not be given a vest, but can still access the course for reporting purposes and to appear on camera. In short, if you have a camera, you should also have a media vest. If you do not have a camera, you do not need a vest.
Section 3: Definitions
Below are the formal definitions for the terms that are underlined in the explainer documentation above.
- DGPT Event or Event means the DGPT Tournaments and Surrounding Events, which typically occur in a week between Monday and the following Monday, including all actions between the arrival of the Disc Golf Pro Tour to do course set up through the course tear down after the conclusion of the Tournament.
- DGPT Tournaments or Tournament means all actions in competitive play during a tournament included on the Disc Golf Pro Tour or its points series, including but not limited to, Exhibition Events, Silver Events, Elite Events, Elite+ Events, Playoff Events and the Tour Championship.
- Surrounding Events means actions occurring on Premises during the DGPT Event (from Monday to Monday), other than Tournament Play, including Media Days, practice rounds, qualifiers, action occurring in practice areas, hospitality areas, and all surrounding
- Lead Card: The playing group assigned to the final tee time of the day for either division (FPO or MPO).
- Chase Card: The playing group assigned to the second to last tee time of the day for either division (FPO or MPO).
- Inside The Ropes means the area at a DGPT Tournament between spectators and Players as defined by the DGPT at each Tournament Premises via either visual markers (e.g., flags, rope, walls, staff member placement, etc…) or as described either in written or verbal form by a DGPT staff member or Event Team member.
- Competition Content is defined as capturing media using Professional Equipment in the Competition Area during Competition Hours.
- Professional Equipment includes any camera except a phone camera. Clip-on lens extenders, tripod/monopod, gimbals, or camera cages/grips are considered to be professional equipment.
- Competition Area means the course(s) used at a DGPT Tournament. This includes all holes on the course that are not in use, and any other areas surrounding the course as defined by the DGPT on an event-by-event basis.
- Competition Hours means the period of time when competition is taking place inside the Competition Area. Typically, competition hours last from one hour before the first tee time of the day to one hour after the completion of the round for all competitors assigned to the last tee time of the day.
- Mixed Zone means the post-round interview area as defined by the DGPT on an event-by-event basis. This area is typically by the DGN Media trailer.
- Photo Well means a designated area inside the ropes that all credential holders can access for the purposes of capturing media in areas that otherwise would only be accessible with a green credential.
- General Admission Area means the areas of anEvent that are open to general admission ticket holders. Access to the general tournament area includes vending areas, concession areas, and other areas that may be generally accessible to spectators with a general admission ticket.
- VIP Admission Area means the areas of the Event that are open only to VIP admission ticket holders. VIP ticket holders are always allowed in General Admission Areas. Additionally, VIP ticket holders are allowed access to additional areas as defined by the Tournament organizers on an event-by-event basis. This often (but not always) includes the ability to walk behind (not Inside the Ropes) a playing group.
Media access credit explainer
Q: What is a Media Access Credit?
A: Media Access Credits are the mechanism by which the DGPT allows Tour/Event Partners or Commercial Media Entities access to DGPT Events for the purpose of creating and capturing media.
Q: What is a “Tour Partner” or “Event Partner”?
A: Tour/EventPartner means an organization, other than those who qualify as a Media Outlet under that definition, which have entered into an agreement with the Tour / Tournament in which the organization has purchased an advertising or promotional package from the Tour /Tournament or who is engaged primarily in the business of selling goods and services to the viewers of the Event.
Q: What is a Commercial Media Entity?
A: Commercial Media Entity means an organization, other than those who qualify as a Media Outlet and Tour Partners/Event Partners under those definitions, primarily focused on the promotion of a player, multiple players, partnership, event, brand, or tour primarily with advertising of a good or service. This includes but is not limited to sponsors such as disc manufacturers, player management groups, equipment producers, apparel producers, commemorative item producers, trophy producers, service providers, agencies, firms, non-profits, and retailers of any kind.
Q: How do Media Access Credits Work?
A: Media Access Credits are essentially pre-approved media credentials. Here’s how it works.
- A Tour/Event Partner or Commercial Media Entity is given a specified number of pre-approved media credentials that can be claimed by said party at one or more DGPT Events. These pre-approved credentials are referred to as “Media Access Credits.” One media access credit is good for up to three (3) media credentials for your team at any given event. To receive Media Access Credits, said party must either:
- Be signed to an official partnership agreement with DGPT that includes a number of credits or;
- Purchase them from the Tour via the DGPT’s Partnerships Department (reach out to your sales rep or inquire here if you’re looking to connect with someone for the first time).
- To formalize the allocation of Media Access Credits, the Tour and the Tour Partner or Commercial Media Entity must sign a media licensing agreement (DGPT Media Agreement for Commercial Entities) governing what kind of media can be captured by the said party at the DGPT Event, as well as where and how it may be displayed.
- To activate a Media Access Credit, the Tour Partner or Commercial Media Entity must sign an agreement (Media Access Credit Use Rider) that formally documents the use of said credit. This agreement will also require the Tour Partner or Commercial Media Entity’s credential holders to follow specified rules and regulations in capturing media (on-site conduct guidelines).
- Once the Media Access Credit Use Rider is signed, the DGPT will add the Tour Partner or Commercial Media Entity’s credential holders to the Tour’s official approved media list for the requested event(s) and provide instructions on picking up the credentials.
Q: Do Media Access Credits Cost Money?
A: Yes, but if you’re a DGPT Partner, you may have one or more media access credits built into your agreement. Please confirm this with your sales representative at the DGPT whom you worked with on your agreement. If they’re not included, you can still buy them separately. Commercial Media Entities who aren’t Tour Partners can either become a Tour Partner at a level that includes a certain number of Media Access Credits or purchase them individually from the Tour. Inquire here.
Q: How Do I Activate A Media Access Credit? What’s the Step by Step Process?
A: Activating a credit is a fairly quick and straightforward process. Here’s how it works:
- Before you can activate a credit, you must ensure you’ve signed a copy of the DGPT Media Agreement for Commercial Entities. If you can’t remember if this still needs to happen, check with your DGPT sales representative to make sure that this has been completed! You only need to sign this document once – not every time that you decide to use a media access credit.
- Once you’ve confirmed that you’ve signed the DGPT Media Agreement for Commercial Entities, you can let the Tour know that you want to activate one of your media access credits by filling out a Media Access Credit Use Authorization Request which is available on the Tour Partner & Commercial Media Entities tab of this page. This form won’t take more than 90 seconds to complete.
- Once the DGPT receives your use authorization request, our team will verify the number of access credits that are still available for your use. Then, the Tour will issue you a Media Access Credit Use Rider for your signature (attached as an appendix in the DGPT Media Agreement for Commercial Entities).
- You’ll need to sign the Media Access Credit Use Rider to formalize and document your Media Access Credit Use Authorization Request. This is also where you will indicate exactly who your credential holders will be for the event in question. Filling out and signing this document only takes a few seconds.
- Once the Tour receives your signature on the Media Access Credit Use Rider, your Media Access Credit Use Authorization Request has been completed and the names of your credential holders will be added to the Tour’s official approved media list for the appropriate events.
On-site guidelines for credential holders
Media Vests
- Credential holders may be granted a media vest that will allow them to capture media inside the ropes at DGPT events. If granted a vest, the credential holder must comply with all associated instructions given by DGPT staff for vest use. Refer to the DGPT Media Credential Guide for more information on vests.
General Conduct Guidelines
For all Credential Holders:
- Credentials must be easily accessible and displayed prominently on the credential holder at all times. Credentials should be worn on the front of your outer layer of clothing or on a lanyard.
- A Credential Holder must present his/her credentials upon entry to a Tournament, at all relevant access points within a DGPT Event/Tournament Premises and at the request of DGPT or Tournament staff.
- A Credential Holder must follow the directions and instructions of DGPT and Tournament staff while present at a DGPT Event pursuant to these Media Regulations.
- The use of carts or other personal transportation devices (such as bikes, scooters, roller blades, etc.) by a Credential Holder is prohibited unless expressed or communicated as acceptable by the DGPT or Tournament Staff
Positioning Guidelines
For all Credential Holders:
- Inside The Ropes access is only permitted with a media vest.
- A Credential Holder who is allowed Inside the Ropes with a media vest may not position himself/herself in the line of play. If requested to move by a player, caddie or DGPT or Tournament staff, a Credential Holder must do so without delay or discussion. A Credential Holder should position him/herself outside of the reasonable line of sight of Disc Golf Network or DGPT Media Partner broadcasters/camera operators.
Interview Guidelines
For all Credential Holders:
- A Credential Holder may only publish interview content of the person who has consented to give the interview.
- A Credential Holder must clearly request, and the player must clearly grant permission, for audio and/or video of an interview to be recorded. The Credential Holder is responsible for providing evidence of such permission at the request of DGPT and/or the interviewee.
- Players are not to be distracted or interrupted for interviews (or any other purpose) during practice or play on any day of a Tournament.
- Interviews are permitted in the practice areas only if the interview is conducted by prior arrangement with the player, outside the driving range area and not where it could be distracting to other players.
- On competition days, interviews may be conducted only after the conclusion of the player’s round (i.e., after the player has finalized their scorecard) and after said player has completed any media obligations for Disc Golf Network or other DGPT Media Partners, unless a prior arrangement is made for a pre-round interview. A Credential Holder is not allowed in the scoring area. DGPT staff will seek to make requested and leading players available each day in a designated interview area.
Media Capture Guidelines
All media recording devices and other equipment must be noise-free at all times.
- All cameras must be mirrorless.
- A silent shutter mode camera may be approved with special permission from the DGPT if the Credential Holder is a local or national media outlet member.
Players may not be asked to pose during practice sessions (i) before a practice or competition round except by prior arrangement with the player or (ii) during a practice or competition round under any circumstances.
Locker Room & Player Hospitality Area Guidelines
Credential Holders are not allowed in player locker rooms or player hospitality areas except with the express permission of a DGPT Media manager on-site and by special request made to said employee on-site.
During weather delays, a Credential Holder is not permitted in the locker room / player hospitality guidelines. If possible, DGPT staff may make players available for interviews in designated interview area(s) during weather delays.
Commercial licensing policies
Media Access Credits
(Commercial Licensing of Photos & Video Generated by a Credential Holder)
- At all DGPT events, an approved Credential Holder intending to capture media on behalf of a Tour Partner or Commercial Media Entity must do so under the conditions of a Media Access Credit agreement (see Media Access Credit Explainer for more info).
- At all DGPT Events, the title / presenting partner(s) of the Event will be granted Media Access Credits, which will allow them to capture/create media for commercial display.
Commercial Licensing of Photos & Video Generated by DGPT Media
The DGPT allows for non-exclusive commercial licensing of images from its photography department and video footage from Disc Golf Network.
- DGPT Photos: $50 each. You can license photos easily at https://discgolfprotour.smugmug.com
- Disc Golf Network Video: $1,000 per minute billed incrementally with a $250 minimum. Please reach out to production@dgpt.com to begin a video license request.
- These fees may be set against any commercial use credits held by Tour Partners as a condition of their agreement with the DGPT.
Other Cases
- All Credential Holders or their Affiliated Entities who do not fall under the definitions of a Media Outlet, Tour Partner, or Commercial Media Entity must also pay a commercial license fee for any media they capture at an event that is used in a Commercial Display. The DGPT may, at its sole discretion, waive these fees.
- If a Credential Holder or their Affiliated Entity captures media at an event with the intent to use said media for a Non-Commercial Display, they must inform the DGPT if they desire to use that media for Commercial Display in the future. Upon notification of intent for use in a Commercial Display, the Credential Holder or Affiliated Entity must license the images or video footage for commercial use and pay the associated fee. The DGPT may, at its sole discretion, waive these fees.
