Disc golf has become one of the most popular sports in Finland in recent years. Behind this development is the Finnish-based company Discmania, which has played a significant role in the growth and development of the sport worldwide.
Now Discmania has announced that it will be the presenting partner of the historic Disc Golf World Championships.
“Our mission is to make disc golf a global sport, and bringing the sport’s biggest and most international event, the Pro World Championships, to Finland is a dream come true. Discmania has been behind all of this. Now this work will receive its deserved crown in August at Nokia,” says Jussi Meresmaa, founder of Discmania.
Discmania’s main partnership is strongly visible in the event and its marketing: Discmania produces the official discs for the World Championships. Discmania’s top player Niklas Anttila is one of the event’s advertising faces. Discmania’s visibility also extends to the event courses: Discmania will be visible on the most important holes of the event.
The official name of the event will be:
PDGA Pro Disc Golf World Championships 2025 presented by Discmania
Discmania: the engine of disc golf’s growth and development in Europe
Disc golf has grown tremendously in Europe thanks to Discmania and the company’s DiscGolPark course concept. Discmania has been organizing international competitions since 2001, which have inspired new players to the sport and brought the sport to the attention of millions of people. The events have also laid the foundation for European professional disc golf.
Discmania’s sponsorship and support on the local level have also been an important factor in the development of the sport. The company has been involved in supporting young talents and helping them achieve their goals in disc golf. The most prominent example is the European disc golf Champion Niklas Anttila, who joined the Discmania team as a young junior and is the first Finnish Disc Golf Pro Tour winner.
“Discmania’s commitment to developing the sport is not only limited to products and events. The company is also very actively involved in developing the sport from the course level, which I believe is the most important aspect of the sport. “Disc golf must remain a low-threshold sport, allowing as many people as possible to access the courses and this great sport,” says Discmania founder Jussi Meresmaa.
In honor of the presenting partnership, Discmania is releasing a new fundraiser disc: Discmania P4 is a low and overstable putter for players of all skill levels. The discs now on sale are made with a special Pro Worlds stamp and plastic blend.
By purchasing official event merchandise from Discmania, you support the historic Pro Worlds in Finland.
