The PDGA Professional Disc Golf World Championships 2025 are scheduled for July 30 to August 3, and the event’s official logo has just been unveiled. For the first time in history, this prestigious event will be held outside the North America, with the venues set in Nokia and Tampere, Finland.
Alongside the dates, the championships’ logo and website were launched.
Jussi Meresmaa, the event director, commented on the design: “The logo embodies the essence of Finland—its pristine nature and the spirit of a grand sports event. The design features arcs that mimic the rim and flight path of a disc golf disc, a nod to the uniqueness of our sport. The color scheme of blue and white represents Finland, while gold adds a touch of prestige that the championships deserve.”
Disc golf has seen explosive growth over recent years, becoming hugely popular in Finland with hundreds of thousands of players. The competitive scene, in particular, has expanded rapidly.
The competition will take place on two exceptional courses. Nokia’s ‘The Beast’, famous from the European Open, offers a nearly perfect mix of technical and open fairways. The Tampere Disc Golf Center, a state-of-the-art facility opened in Tampere in 2018, challenges players mentally and physically with its advanced layout.
These World Championships are the most significant event in disc golf, attracting the globe’s top players and an estimated 25,000 spectators to Finland. The event is expected to have a significant economic impact on the Pirkanmaa region, estimated between 3 to 4 million euros. Both Tampere and Nokia are enthusiastic about hosting this unique and prestigious international event.
